Horns Upon a Haunted Throne
The darkness dwells deep inside of me,
A shattered lie in the mirror,
The moonlit sky seems to linger above me,
A hollow world beneath its glare,
My soul is broken, a flash of red,
Self-inflicted scars beneath my skin,
My lungs are burning with this poison air,
Condemned to dwell amongst the damned.
The time has come on this blackest night,
Horns upon my haunted throne will rise,
I lost my way and gave in to hate,
To appease the beast who usurped the throne,
Midnight descends upon the chamber hall,
And I wonder how far I might go,
To see an end to the dying light,
And the demon that haunts the world.
There is no Satan or God,
Only this empty heart,
Lost with the hopeless who die to escape the pain,
There is something growing inside,
And deep within the broken I know,
The need to overthrow the horns upon the throne,
In the mirror I see her face,
The child who needs me to be whole,
But still I am bound to this haunted throne.
Break, the chains that bind me,
Take my life, it just won’t heal,
I can’t see her face in my nightmare, strike me down,
Break, the chains that bind me,
Take the life inside me,
I can’t escape the shadow of these horns,
I must be free.
There is no Satan or God,
Only this empty heart,
Lost with the hopeless who die to escape the pain,
In the mirror I see her face,
The child who needs me to be whole,
But still I am bound to the haunted throne.
Break, the chains that bind me,
Take my life, it just won’t heal,
I can’t see her face in my nightmare, strike me down,
Break, the chains that bind me,
Take the life inside me,
I can’t escape the shadow of these horns,
I must be free.
The horns remain upon my haunted throne,
And midnight descends upon the land,
Bound to my demon king once again,
And yet the mirror haunts my soul,
The time has come on this blackest night,
Summon the sword, a flash of red,
Still my lungs burn in the poison air,
I must rise up from the dead.

French Symphonic / Melodic Death Metal. This is unbelievably good & demands to be listened to & bought! Otherwise the Gorgon will turn you to stone... :) The riffs & the Eastern melodies add some exotic moments as well. Any fans of Brymir & Ex Deo & Septicflesh should love this! Highly recommended!!! bmurator

Totengefluster was a pleasant surprise for me quite a few years back when their second album fell into my hands. Symphonic black metal from Germany, very reminiscent of Cradle of Filth. Whilst the previous album had a sense of poetic theatricality within it's composition, this third and final album (sadly the band has now split) is faster paced and more fierce. The songwriting is great, and the vocals continue to impress with the range and execution. Highly recommended, worth the purchase! Abyssius Murkraken
Joseph Hawker subverts the musical and sociopolitical status quo with a black metal triptych that's as incendiary as it is impressionistic. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 5, 2022

Winter wind blasted atmospheric black metal from the desolate fields of Siberia. Crisp production and an excellent performance. Grima is a must check out for any black metal fan. 8/10 RJ
